Thanks Tanya :) At the moment I'm having to use white spirit but I've heard it will eventually take the shellac off, I bought some Citri Wash which is water based but it didn't work! Plus I really don't fancy using water on wood type:) I try and remove as much ink as I can before cleaning which helps a little. I've also heard some use denatured alcohol which is not as abrasive and doesn't smell as bad also in the old days they used liquid paraffin but that takes ages to dry and stinks :) Something I'm looking into if you hear of anything more enviro friendly do let me know :)
hi jax - all of what you described is what I've learned as well. When the face of the type loses it's 'sheen' after I clean it, I get a little disheartened. I'll let you know if I come across anything else that may work the best as well.
these look great jax! Wondering what you use to clean your wood type?
